Frequently asked questions
Honest answers to the questions people ask most.
What is classical homeopathy?
Classical homeopathy is a complementary approach founded by Samuel Hahnemann in 1796, based on the idea of "like with like". It looks at the whole person, so no two consultations are the same.
Does homeopathy work?
Many people value homeopathy and feel supported by it. However, its effects are not recognised as scientifically proven, and I cannot promise any particular outcome. I would like you to make an informed choice, and I am always happy to talk openly about what homeopathy can and cannot offer.
Can I use homeopathy alongside my regular medication?
Yes, many people do. Please keep taking the medication your doctor has prescribed, and never stop or change it without speaking to your GP or specialist. If you wish, I can keep them informed, with your permission.
How does a first consultation work?
It takes about 90 minutes, so there is time to listen. We talk about you: your health, your daily life, your sleep, your emotions and what matters most to you. There is no pressure and no wrong answer. If you prefer, start with an intake to learn more about the method first.
Why do two people with the same complaint get different advice?
Homeopathy looks at the individual rather than at the label. Your experience, your history and your way of reacting are all part of the picture, and these are different for each person.
Why might there be weeks between follow-ups?
Giving things time is part of the process. I decide together with you, case by case, when we should meet again and what is needed.
Is homeopathy the same as herbal medicine?
No. Homeopathy is an independent system of complementary healthcare, and it differs from herbal medicine in its principles and its preparation.
Do you see children?
Yes, children of all ages are welcome. Parents are an important part of the conversation, and I take time to make little ones feel at ease.
Is an online consultation as good as one in person?
For follow-ups, online works well for most people. A first consultation in the Netherlands is in person; from outside the Netherlands it can be done online by video call.
How much does it cost and will my insurer reimburse it?
Rates are on the home page. Consultations are not reimbursed from the basic insurance, but may be reimbursed under a supplementary insurance, depending on your policy. Please check your policy or ask your insurer. After each consultation you receive an invoice by email that you can submit.
What if I need to cancel?
Please let me know at least 24 hours in advance, otherwise the appointment may be charged. See the terms and conditions.
What if I'm not satisfied?
Please tell me first, so we can talk about it. If we cannot resolve it together, you can use the complaints procedure.
